Wine
Despite being in the Yarra Valley area, it's difficult to go tasting unless you drive or travel with a large group. We looked for local guides. Then we thought we would hire one of the town's four taxis for a couple of hours - couldn't get one. So we boarded our bus back to Melbourne and the driver said he could drop us off at Yering Station Winery, a very nice winery and one of the first in the Valley. The driver told us it wasn't a normal stop, but we could hail the bus and it would stop. We had a great tasting, bought a couple of bottles and went out to the highway to catch the next bus. In about a half hour we saw our bus approaching and waved our arms - the bus went right by. Damn. We then had the winery folks call us a taxi and after one-half hour it arrived and took us to Lilydale where we continued our journey tp Melbourne. We drank much of the wine that night.
